Calendar Update

Friday Oct. 7 – Regular day for Pre-K PM 12:00-3:00

Mon. Oct. 10 – No School

It was nice to see all of you again at our Back to School night. I hope I was able to answer some of your questions. Thank you for coming.

What an exciting week! We’ve had so much fun getting to know each other. All the children are working very hard learning all of the rules. I’m sure they have told you there are so many of them! The children are becoming very comfortable with the schedule and each other. I’m sure this will be a very fun year for all.

We have made some stars and have been reading Stars, by Mary Lyn Ray. In the story she discusses putting a star in your pocket so, we are sending a little star home is everyone’s pocket.

Thank you for doing such a great job signing in and out, it is so important for us to know who is going to daycare or carpool. Please remember to label everything. All jackets, sweaters, backpacks, lunch boxes, and things that can be left behind must have your child’s name on it.

We will begin “Share” next week, Tuesday Sept. 13. Each child has been assigned a day, this is your child’s day to “share” for the whole school year. For the first share day I’m sending home a small bag with your child’s name on it. Please help your child select three things that are important to him/her and bring them in the bag on their assigned share day. All the other share days; help your child select one item for sharing and bring it in a bag. Share Day is very special for our children; they are welcome to bring anything they can carry themselves, except weapons of any kind.  If your child would like to bring a live share (sibling or really cool bug they found) please let me know the day before. Please remember to put your child’s share in a bag, and they may bring only one item at a time.

We truly appreciate all the support we get from our parents; we could not do this without you.

For Homework next week each child needs to bring in one apple, solid colors work the best for our projects; all yellow, red or green by Tuesday Sept. 13.
