Wednesday, Dec. 21 - NO DAYCARE OR CARPOOL AVAILABLE

This week we have been learning that Christmas is about Jesus’ birthday and love. We are busy being little elves making decorations for your home, as well as learning about Advent. On Wednesday the children brought home an Advent wreath with a booklet, please help your child “light” the next candle on Sunday. This the homework for the month. There is a paper flame in the booklet and a little prayer to say for each Sunday; we will say the prayer on Monday in class as well.

I’ve been hearing there are questions about our Christmas Program, which takes place on Tuesday night, Dec. 20. The Pre-K children need to be dropped off in the Pre-K classroom by 6:30p.m. The program will begin promptly at 7:00. The children should wear dressy Christmas clothes. The boys are asked to wear long pants and a shirt with a collar and the girls should wear a Christmas dress and tights. This is such a special night, I hope everyone can attend. After we perform, we will exit the Church and return to our classroom. The children will stay with me in the classroom throughout the program. We will watch a short movie, the original “How the Grinch stole Christmas.” It is very important the children are safe; parents must sign their children out in our classroom.

We seem to be having lots of trouble with our water bottles. If your child brings a water bottle please make sure it is closed tightly. If your child cannot close them properly, please send something else.

Our playground does not get direct sunlight until late afternoon, so it is usually cold during the winter months; please send a sweater or sweatshirt with your child every day. We really are trying to keep everyone as healthy as possible.

We have many pictures of our Thanksgiving feast. Please visit our class website to view them, as well as our class pictures from the month of November. http://beirn101.wixsite.com/prekindergarten

This is such a busy and exciting time; I truly enjoy sharing it with your children. I’m hearing lots of Christmas stories.
