Calendar Update

October 21 -22 – Harvest Festival: See you there!

Friday Oct. 28 – Trick or Trunk

Monday Oct 31 - Halloween: Both Classes meet from 7:55 – 11:00 in costumes!

Friday Nov. 4 - No School: Diocesan In-Service

We have filled our room with Bats, Cats, and Pumpkins! Halloween is the main topic of conversation this week. We are enjoying making decorations. On Halloween the class will line up as usual, outside by the stairwell.  After the first morning bell rings I will take the students to the assembly. The Halloween parade begins promptly after morning announcements in front of Nevin Hall (the gym). Everyone is invited to watch. This is always a very fun day. Please make sure your child isn’t wearing a costume that is too scary or gory. No weapons please (pirate swords, light sabers, and guns of any kind are all weapons). I really don’t want to have to take them away. Students should wear shoes they can walk in, such as their regular school shoes. No high heels for the girls, please.

We are concentrating on being kind this month, as well as throughout the school year. Through many discussions and stories we know that we have to show kindness to everyone through our actions and words. We know Jesus’ most important lesson was to “love one another” and always be kind.

I would like to thank the Cagnolo family for new craft supplies.

I also would like to remind everyone to please sign in completely every day. Some of the students go to Daycare or carpool on varying days; it really helps alleviate confusion at the end of the day if I know where they should go, or if someone different is picking them up. The “Comments” section of the sign in sheet is a perfect place to write any changes in your child’s pick up routine.

As you may have noticed, we have been sending home Scholastic Book Order Forms once a month. These are a wonderful opportunity to purchase books for your child. We have yet to receive any orders, however, and while it is not mandatory to order, it might be helpful later on in the year to have extra books on hand, as I will be sending out a reading log for you and your student to complete together. Also, whenever you do order from Scholastic, we get rewarded with books for our classroom.

Thank you, and have a fun time at the Harvest Festival!
