Calendar Update
Monday, Oct 17- Picture Day
Friday, Oct. 21 - Both classes meet from 7:55- 11:00; there is no carpool
Friday, Oct 28 - Trick or Trunk 5:00
Thurs. Oct. 31- Halloween Parade and Celebration both classes meet

This week we continued working on the Alphabet with the letter E. We are also learning to recognize the vowels and their two sounds.

We are still looking for signs of Fall; our weather is not making this easy. We are discussing the fact that there are four seasons and where we live they are a little different from other places in our country.
​
Thanks to the Gibney family and the Riske family we have more playdoh, and thank you to the McDonald family for giving us some craft supplies. We will put these to good use.

“Sharing” is the beginning of being comfortable reading out loud and public speaking. It is important that each child feels they have enough time to talk about the item they chose for that day. It seems we are having a hard time remembering our assigned day; if your child is sick or takes a day off they can share the following week on their assigned day. We are all very excited about Halloween; it is always a fun day. We will go to the assembly immediately after the second bell rings. The parade starts immediately after morning assembly, in front of Nevin Hall; parents may stand on the perimeter of the blacktop and watch the fun. Then it’s back to the classroom for the students to get some work done before our celebration. Just a reminder that we can’t have any scary (bloody or frightful) masks, costumes, or any weapons. Light sabers, swords, pirate guns from Disneyland, and lasers of any kind are considered weapons.
Jumping way ahead in our calendar, Sister Kathleen Marie wrote in the “big newsletter” that conferences are the 18th, 21st, and 22nd of November. Pre-Kindergarten conferences will be all day on Friday, the 18th. There will be a sign up sheet on the white board at the beginning of November. If this day doesn’t work for you we will decide on a different day after Nov. 18th. I am available Monday through Friday after 3:15.
