We have been busy learning to recognize some of the letters and their sounds. This week we learned the sight and sound of the letter D, and now we know and continue to practice the sights and sounds of letters A - D.

Today, the shapes books we made are going home. Please read and discuss the shapes with your children. This is their homework for the weekend.

We spent D week learning about dinosaurs. We know that dinosaurs are extinct, their bones are fossils, and that they were discovered by paleontologists.

Have you heard the “Five Little Pumpkins”? We are really doing a good job learning all of the words.

Thank you to the Woods and Presicci families for supplying us with more Play-Doh and glue sticks.

Please remember to have your child bring their share item in a bag. There should only be 1 item being shared for each week.

Dressing up for Halloween is always fun. Please remember not to dress your child in anything really scary or gory, and please no weapons of any kind. Both classes will meet at 7:55 that Monday morning; we will join the Halloween parade when the bell rings. The children need to wear their school shoes with their costumes. If the costume is uncomfortable they will be able to take off parts of the costumes, such as hats, capes, etc., after the parade. As you can see, October is a very busy month.

We have many pictures up on our classroom website! To see these, go to http://beirn101.wixsite.com/prekindergarten and click on the header “Class Pictures” to see our September photos. This link is also where you can access any of our past Weekly Newsletters, and check to see if there is homework. We do not use Teacher Web, so make sure to save this link somewhere.

Thank you for all of your continuing support,

Mrs. Rametta
