Pre-K Newsletter

 Sept. 16, 2016

Calendar Update

Oct. 7 – Regular day for Pre-K, PM comes at the regular time

Oct 10– No School: Columbus Day

This week we continued to learn about our new friends. We are having fun getting to know one another, and we are working hard learning all of the rules.

We learned many new facts about apples. The morning class preferred the red and the afternoon class preferred green apples.  We also learned where God put a “secret star.” Ask your child if they know where to find a secret star, (cut an apple in half, horizontally, and you will find the star).

I hope you have been hearing about Guardian Angels. We drew pictures of ours and gave them names.

We began “Share” this week, it was quite interesting. Next week and for the rest of the school year, please help your child select one item for sharing and bring it in a bag. Share Day is very special for our children; they are welcome to bring anything they can carry themselves except weapons of any kind. Share days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, each child has their assigned day; the assigned days were sent home last week and are listed on our class website.  If your child would like to bring a live share (sibling or really cool bug they found) please let me know the day before. Please remember to put your child’s share in a bag, and they may bring only one item at a time.

I forgot to mention during our Orientation Night and Back to School Night that everything has to be labeled, lunch boxes, backpacks, all sweaters and share bags. Since all sweaters and sweatshirts look the same, it is very important to have at least your last name on them.

Every time your child is absent, please send a note with them when they return.

Everyone is doing a very good job emailing Mrs. Dolkas and me, but the State requires a note to return to class.

If anyone would like to donate or use it as fundraising, we really need new Playdoh. Over the years we have discovered that the original Playdoh is the best.

Thank you very much for your support,
